So, I don't see the benefit in creating a copy of the map, because then I'll just have *two* copies that behave the same way. So then I tried selecting the southern-most node at the intersection of the page border and then shift-selecting the node in the bottom right corner and tried to 'break path at selected nodes'. No error message, no entry in the undo list. But the 'join selected nodes' button does absolutely nothing when I do that. It seems to me that I should be able to select the northern-most node at the intersection of the page border and shift-select the southern-most node at the intersection of the page border and 'join' them to complete that island.
